Private Travel Planning
Buenaventuras is a travel-planning and coordination service — not a booking portal, not a tour bus, not a media brand. Here's exactly what that means.
Who It's For
Travelers who want a trip designed around them, without doing the research themselves. Our typical clients are couples, families, and friend groups of 2–16 people planning trips of 4–14 days, who care more about the trip being right than about it being cheap.
It's not a fit for everyone. If you want a same-week booking, a flash-deal price, or a standard resort package you could book directly, we'll tell you honestly that you don't need us.
What We Plan
- Accommodations — villas, boutique hotels, and resorts, with the trade-offs explained
- Ground transportation — airport transfers and private drivers
- Experiences — guides, boat charters, excursions, and activities with vetted operators
- Dining — reservations, private chefs, and a written list of where to eat near your stay
- Special moments — proposals, celebrations, photographers, and surprises
- Pre-arrival guidance — packing, money, connectivity, and what to expect at the airport
What's Booked Separately
- Flights — you book these directly; we advise on the best airport and arrival times for your itinerary
- Travel insurance — we strongly recommend it and can point you to providers, but you purchase it yourself
- Passports and visas — your responsibility; we'll flag the entry requirements to check
Planning Timeline
Ideal: 2–6 months before travel — the best villas and guides book out early, especially December–April and whale season.
Minimum: we generally need at least 3 weeks to plan a trip well. Tighter than that, ask — the honest answer depends on the season.
Fees & Pricing
After your questionnaire we'll have a short call, and you'll receive a written planning proposal that states the planning fee and how trip costs are handled — before any work begins or money changes hands.
No surprise line items, and you'll always see what things cost.
Group Size
We plan for 2 to roughly 16 travelers. Larger celebrations are possible with more lead time — ask first.
How We Communicate
Email is the backbone — everything important arrives in writing. We schedule calls at the proposal stage and before departure, and agree on how to reach us while you travel.
Changes & Cancellation
Each villa, hotel, and operator has its own change and cancellation terms; we summarize them in your itinerary so nothing is buried in fine print, and we advise flexible bookings during hurricane season (roughly August–October).
